Projects
At PPF we offer a range of groups and sessions than run weekly. We provide peer-led activities, one-to-one support, skills training and inclusive employment pathways. Everything we do is shaped by lived experience.
Below you can find some additional information on the various projects we currently run.
1:1 Benefits
Advocacy LITE
Our benefit support service offers members a chance to have assistance with all aspects of their benefit claim,
This includes applications, assessments, appeals and any associated letters. Through the advocacy lite aspect of the role, support can be offered to read and act on letters, make telephone calls, look at finances, access to health care and housing. As well as referring to relevant organisations and liaising with other agencies who offer a more specialised support.
Regardless of the reason for making an appointment, the information is broken down and explained in a way that the individual understands. Using a more tailored approach, the relevant details can be obtained, and informed decisions can be made.

Citizen
Champions
Our Citizen Champs project employs 4 members with lived experience to work with services and organisations such as the Local Authorities and Hywel Dda, to co produce services, to work in communities to support citizens to have a voice.
The champs sit on various boards, groups and forums such as the Pembrokeshire Learning Disability Partnership Board, the Regional Improving Lives Partnership, Carers Forums and Dream Team.
The project supports citizens to have a voice in the design and delivery of services and how these services are supported, and to provide learning and understanding of how support for people with disabilities can be better provided.
The project promotes physical health and wellbeing by encouraging people to engage in activities and services. It helps reduce isolation, raise awareness, increases support networks and enables people to be more in control of their support needs. The project enables a better understanding of the needs of people with lived experience, and helps to ensure that services meet the needs and expectations of those citizens
The Champs promote the importance of inclusion by providing specific training through LD and Autism awareness training, and also easy read. They meet people in various settings, attend numerous events throughout the Community and visit groups and organisations to raise awareness, share resources and support other citizens to have their voices heard.

Gaming
Club
Our Gaming Club is all about creating a relaxed, welcoming space for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities to hang out, have fun, and build real friendships — no pressure, no expectations, just good vibes.
Most of our members are men, and we’ve found that gaming offers a brilliant way to open up conversations and connections that might otherwise feel tricky. Whether someone wants to quietly enjoy a solo game or jump into a multiplayer match with friends, everyone gets to join in at their own pace.
One of the highlights? Our weekly gaming tournaments! They’ve become the heart of the club — full of laughter, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition. Members even help run the events themselves, managing match schedules and scoreboards, which adds to the sense of ownership and pride.
Since starting the tournaments, we’ve seen friendships grow stronger, confidence soar, and even members meeting up outside of club hours — something many hadn’t done in years.
The first Thursday of each month the project is hosted by Value Independence in Milford Haven and is run at the PPF Office every other Thursday of the month!
Join us, grab a controller, and let’s press start on great games and great friendships.
Fancy a new challenge? Our Roll the Dice! group is coming soon — tabletop, card, and board games galore! Keep an eye out for posters.

Môr
We are people with additional needs and Mor is our creative enterprise.
We make everything in small batches by hand at our studio in Letterston, with nature as our guide. We have a range of products that are perfect for the home and garden. If you would like to visit, get in touch, we would love you show you around.
Visit our Môr page to find out more.

Moving
On
Moving On is project that focuses on helping our members become more independent by providing a safe environment for them to make mistakes and grow.
We support adults with learning disabilities and autism to build confidence, independence, and skills for everyday life. Our sessions are friendly, inclusive and accessible. We promote a safe environment where members feel comfortable to explore, ask questions and grow at their own pace.
The project is run as a series of 9-week courses, covering:
• Employability
• Relationships
• Wellbeing
• Household Management
• Cooking
Through group discussions, fun activities and real-life examples, we help people understand the world around them and make informed choices.
We focus on creating a solid foundation for growth by encouraging peer support, having honest conversations and providing consistent, inclusive and respectful guidance
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to develop their strengths, connect with others, and work towards their goals—whether that’s finding a job, staying safe online, or feeling more confident in a group.

Stay
Social
Stay Social’s purpose is to provide a safe and welcoming space for adults with LD to take part in social and educational activities, have fun, express their unique identities and develop their skills to reach their full potential in the community.
Stay Social is attended by a range of people with a variety of needs;
- Learning Disabilities
- Autism
- Neurodiversity
- PMLD
- those who simply are ‘lost’ and need a safe, nurturing space
We have members with ages ranging from early 20’s to late 60’s.
Stay social is a member-led project which ensures that the individuals who attend take an active role in defining and running their own provision. We hold regular reviews and formulate the timetables based on their ideas.
Since the first session, we have had in the region of 2000 participants through our doors and served 1500 hot meals to those in need. We estimate that 6000 cups of tea have been brewed and more meaningful conversations had than we can count.
The sessions run every Thursday afternoon at the Johnston Institute Hall. We have anywhere between 25-50 members attending each week. The session takes the format of a drop-in group where members are able to either attend with or without their support. We make timetables and session posters in an easy-read format so members know ahead of time what is happening, what activities will be on offer and which guests are attending. We also advertise what the lunch options will be so that any members that have social anxieties or overwhelm can pre-plan and prepare.
Supported
Employment
We currently have 16 staff on support-employment!
These staff include the Citzens Champions, Môr and office support staff.

Training
We offer various training courses to support
Get in contact with us if you are interested in receiving training or support on how to work with, support or help people with Learning Disabilities.
Unpaid
Carers
We are working towards our Bronze Investors in Carers award which we hope to achieve this summer!
We work closely with our members and offer support for those who are carers or require the support of unpaid carers.
Wellbeing
Group
Our well-being group is run once a week and provides a safe space for our members to discuss how they are feeling.
We talk about how we can manage those feelings and what helps us, providing peer support and building friendships. We hold sessions in the community to encourage physical well-being and improve confidence and resilience.
Members of well-being are often extremely anxious on their first visit but can see that it is a group where anything can be discussed and that there is no pressure to feel a certain way.
